What We Collect

When you use a form on this site we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email, phone or WhatsApp, and your message. If you subscribe to our newsletter we store your email address. We also collect basic, aggregated analytics about how the site is used.

Why We Collect It

To respond to your inquiries, to receipt and report on donations, to process volunteer, internship, and partnership applications, and to send the updates you asked for. We do not use your data for anything else.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. The specific tool and its cookie behavior will be confirmed before launch; if a tool that sets cookies is used, we will show a consent notice.

Forms & Spam Protection

Our forms are handled directly by this website — there is no third-party form service or captcha. We guard against spam and abuse with a hidden honeypot field, submission-timing checks, and rate limiting. Your submission is emailed to our team and not published.

Data Sharing

We never sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that operate this site on our behalf — our web host and our email delivery service — and only as needed to run the site and reply to you.

Retention

We keep form submissions only as long as needed to handle your request and our records, and then delete them. Our standard retention period will be confirmed before launch (we intend around 24 months).

Your Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you — email hello@fivepillarinitiative.org. Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (No. 27/2022) applies to how we handle your data.

Local Hero stories and portraits are published only with the written consent of the people shown. Our safeguarding policy will be linked here once published.
